My Brooklyn Bridge practice
Back here I promised I’d tell you about my practise walk over the Brooklyn Bridge!
As you probably know by now, it’s the countdown for our dream family holiday to the USA! And of course, I’m so excited about going to New York, which has been a dream of mine for a very long time. One of the many “touristy” things I want to do is walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
I’ve spent hours and hours planning a detailed itinerary, so we don’t miss out on seeing anything on our list. Sometimes though, when we’re planning a big holiday like this, or planning for any future events for that matter, we forget to enjoy the moment we’re in. I’m so grateful that since my scare with breast cancer, I tend to treasure every moment of every day, so even when planning for this amazing holiday or other hopes and dreams, I still want to recognise the awesomeness of my life today, in beautiful Sydney.
That’s why I woke my family up a couple of Sundays ago, to drag them into our magnificent city to walk across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge! How could I walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, all the way across the other side of the world, if I hadn’t even taken the time to walk across our very own bridge?
There were so many people of all ages walking across the bridge that day, and I don’t know why it took us so long to realise how much fun it would be! And of course, all the energy expended made us very hungry, so we stopped for lunch afterwards at the Harbour View Hotel, where the food was great…
Then it was back home to get some rest after a lovely day…
Thankfully, we were all full after our hearty pub lunch, so we just had leftovers for dinner – I was a bit too tired to cook up a storm, but I did manage to make a nice quick dessert (recipe here). It may not be cupcakes, but it was definitely still a lovely sweet treat…
Tell me…do you have a dream holiday destination or just a favourite spot in your neck of the woods? I’d love you to leave a comment and share it with me!
